Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the actual outcome of the match. If a significant number of traders believe one team is more likely to win than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been wagered, offering potential value for informed traders.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust, reflecting the collective forecast. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price will climb, indicating increased confidence in that result. This dynamic pricing allows the market to rapidly incorporate new information.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on the official result of the Fremantle Dockers versus St Kilda Saints AFL match. The platform will then determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the result.
