On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome – in this case, either Fortuna Sittard or FC Twente scoring first. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe Fortuna Sittard will score first, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd participating in the market.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, Fortuna Sittard or FC Twente, scores the first goal in the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then finalize the outcome and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the first team to score, based on the final share prices at resolution.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Oct 10, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Fortuna Sittard or FC Twente would likely cause a shift in the odds. Changes in team form, such as a recent winning streak or a string of losses, could also impact trader sentiment. Even pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators or unexpected weather conditions could move the market. Finally, significant betting activity – a large influx of traders buying shares in one outcome – could also cause a noticeable price change.
