In the upcoming NHL game, scheduled for March 28 at 8:00PM ET:
If the Flyers win, the market will resolve to "Flyers".
If the Red Wings win, the market will resolve to "Red Wings".
If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed.
If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.
The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods and shootouts. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be added to the winning team's score for the purpose of resolution.
Kalshi and Polymarket use different resolution thresholds and scopes for the same underlying event. Kalshi offers 8 markets covering goal thresholds from 2.5 to 9.5, while Polymarket offers 5 markets covering thresholds from 4.5 to 7.5, plus a moneyline and spread market. The overlapping O/U markets (4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) share identical resolution logic, but Kalshi includes additional lower thresholds (2.5, 3.5) and a higher threshold (9.5) that Polymarket does not offer.
Hero Tip:
If you trade the overlapping O/U thresholds (4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) on either platform, outcomes will be identical. However, if you bet on Kalshi's 2.5, 3.5, or 9.5 markets, those outcomes have no direct counterpart on Polymarket. Polymarket offers moneyline and spread markets that Kalshi does not. Ensure you understand which platform's market scope matches your prediction strategy.
Critical Divergence Points:
Kalshi: Distinct stance: Kalshi offers 8 over/under markets with thresholds at 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, and 9.5 goals. All resolve YES if the combined goal total exceeds the stated threshold. Kalshi does not offer moneyline or spread markets. Key quote: 'If over X.5 total combined goals are scored in the Philadelphia vs Detroit professional hockey game originally scheduled for Mar 28, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.'
Polymarket: Distinct stance: Polymarket offers 5 over/under markets (4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) plus a moneyline (Flyers vs. Red Wings) and a spread market (Red Wings -1.5). The O/U markets resolve Over if combined goals meet or exceed the threshold plus one (e.g., O/U 4.5 resolves Over at 5+ goals). Polymarket includes a shootout rule: one goal is added to the winning team's score. Key quote: 'This market will resolve to Over if the Flyers and Red Wings combine to score 5 or more goals in this game' (for O/U 4.5).
