Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to represent the true probability of an event occurring, without an inherent profit margin for a central operator. Therefore, you may find that the implied probabilities in this market differ from those offered by sportsbooks, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the likelihood of either Fluminense or Coritiba scoring first.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Fluminense or Coritiba will score first. As more shares are traded for one outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and the collective wisdom of the traders participating in this market.

This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team—Fluminense or Coritiba—scores the first goal in the match. The result will be determined by official match data and verified against credible public sources, ensuring an objective and transparent resolution process. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome of the match.

Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in coaching strategies for either Fluminense or Coritiba could significantly impact the perceived probabilities. Additionally, pre-match analysis from sports analysts, weather conditions on match day, and even early game events, such as initial possession or scoring chances, could all contribute to shifts in the market. Unexpected events, like a red card issued early in the game, could also cause substantial movement in this market.
