This set of markets tracks how many points Florida and Texas will score together in the final quarter of their college football matchup. Each market has a different threshold, determining whether the combined score exceeds that amount.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Florida vs Texas college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold, it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. All markets exclusively consider points scored in the 4th quarter, with overtime points excluded.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade on their belief about the outcome. If a large number of traders believe a particular result is more likely, the price will move accordingly, potentially diverging from initial sportsbook lines. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially as more information becomes available leading up to the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the total points scored in the 4th quarter. The price of a contract represents the probability of that specific outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that the market price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, rather than a single entity's assessment. The current price indicates what the market believes is the most likely total for the fourth quarter.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the fourth quarter between Florida and Texas will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual total points scored in the fourth quarter will receive a payout, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Florida or Texas would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions might also affect trader sentiment. Furthermore, as the game progresses and early scoring trends emerge, the market will react dynamically to the unfolding events, potentially leading to substantial price swings.
