These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of an upcoming college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the second half (including overtime) of the Florida vs Texas college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from over 2.5 points to over 41.5 points); if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count toward these markets.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows individuals to express their own beliefs, leading to odds that can diverge from sportsbook lines as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. While sportsbooks may adjust their odds in response to significant bets, prediction markets continuously update based on every trade, potentially offering a more dynamic and responsive view of probabilities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the market's implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a growing belief in its likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, shown on the dashboard, reveals the volume of buy and sell orders at different price levels, indicating the potential for price movement and the strength of conviction among traders. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a real-time assessment of expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the second half of the Florida vs Texas game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official total points scored in the second half, as reported by official game statistics. The platform will verify the result against established sports data sources to determine the winning contracts and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders should monitor official sources for the final score to understand the resolution process.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Florida or Texas would likely cause significant movement, as it impacts scoring potential. Game-day weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the scoring pace and influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half, including scoring trends and defensive adjustments, could lead to shifts in the market as traders react to the unfolding events. Unexpected coaching decisions or significant momentum swings could also drive price fluctuations.
