This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold, allowing participants to speculate on whether a team will exceed that threshold in the first half.
All markets resolve based on the official points scored by each team in the first half of the Florida vs Missouri college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific point threshold for either Florida or Missouri; if the designated team scores over the threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to be more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, as they reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows for more direct price discovery. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes move more quickly in response to breaking news, such as key player injuries. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between the two, with this market often converging towards a more refined probability as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing whether the team will exceed the total points offered in the first half. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and reflect the collective beliefs of all participants. The current price provides a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team’s first-half performance.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official first half score of the Florida vs Missouri game will be used to determine whether the total points offered were exceeded. The resolution will be based on the official statistics released by the governing body of the sport. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout of 100 minus the price they paid for the contract, while those on the losing side will lose their investment.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Florida or Missouri would likely cause a shift in the price. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect the game's scoring environment, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected news about team strategies or coaching decisions might also play a role. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants can sometimes trigger rapid price movements, reflecting new information or insights.
