This set of markets focuses on predicting the outcome of the fourth quarter in an upcoming college football game. Each market evaluates different point spreads to determine which team will finish the game stronger, highlighting potential momentum shifts in the final moments.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Florida St. vs Miami (FL) college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. For markets where Miami (FL) must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 4.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if Miami's 4th-quarter point differential exceeds that threshold. Conversely, for markets where Florida St. must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes only if Florida St.'s 4th-quarter point differential exceeds that threshold. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result from that resumed game. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, meaning they are settled equitably rather than strictly according to the primary conditions.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. If there's a significant discrepancy, it might indicate that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. It's common to see differences, especially as new information emerges closer to the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that spread occurring in the fourth quarter. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their predictions are correct and lose if they are wrong. This dynamic creates a market-driven price that aggregates the insights of many participants.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the fourth quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the governing body of the game. The final spread will be compared to the contracts traded on Kalshi to determine payouts to contract holders. It's important to note that the resolution process relies on publicly available, verified data.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Florida St. or Miami (FL) teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to one team's style of play, could also move the market. Finally, any shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis or media coverage, could influence trading activity and alter the spread.
