These markets focus on predicting the margin of victory for either Florida State or Miami in the third quarter of their scheduled college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team during that quarter alone.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the third quarter of play in the Florida St. vs Miami (FL) college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. If Miami wins the third quarter by more than the specified point differential (ranging from 2.5 to 23.5 points), the corresponding 'Miami (FL) wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Florida St. wins the third quarter by more than the specified point differential (2.5 to 10.5 points), the corresponding 'Florida St. wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. No markets resolve if neither team meets their respective thresholds. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly bet against each other. As a result, the odds here can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbooks, potentially offering a more accurate reflection of true probabilities as perceived by a diverse group of participants. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the third quarter. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of traders about the likely outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the spread and taking positions accordingly. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently incorporate new information and adjust its predictions in real-time, leading to a constantly evolving view of the game’s potential outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official result of the Florida St vs Miami third quarter spread is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final spread will be determined by the official game statistics, and contracts will pay out based on whether the actual spread falls within the range represented by the purchased contracts. The resolution process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the outcome, based on widely accepted data sources.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to game time. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Florida St or Miami teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team’s style of play, could also impact trading activity. Additionally, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could shift trader sentiment and alter the perceived probabilities, resulting in fluctuations in the price of contracts within this market.
