This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the second half of an upcoming college football game, including any overtime periods. The outcome depends solely on the performance during the latter half of the match, not the overall game result. Postponements are accounted for with specific timing conditions to ensure fair resolution.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second half (including overtime) of the Florida St. vs Louisville college football game scheduled for October 9, 2026. If Louisville scores more second-half points, its market resolves to Yes; if Florida St. scores more, its market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides and ensure profitability. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a wider range of perspectives represented in the prediction market. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook odds, especially as new information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, either Florida St. or Louisville winning the 2nd half. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The closer the event gets, the more volatile the prices may become as new information and opinions influence trading activity. The current price indicates the implied probability of each team winning.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the 2nd half of the Florida St. vs Louisville game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source. Any adjustments or corrections to the official results will be taken into consideration during the resolution process. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Florida St. or Louisville would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team strategy or unexpected starting lineup announcements could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, real-time game performance during the first half, such as a dominant start by one team, could shift the probabilities and drive price changes. Public perception and media coverage leading up to and during the game can also play a role in shaping market expectations.
