Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines, which can be influenced by factors like public perception or bookmaker biases. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on their analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, leading to a dynamic price discovery process. If a significant amount of money is wagered on a particular outcome, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially revealing information not yet fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. It's common to see prediction markets converge towards the 'true' probability as more information becomes available.
