Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates insights from many individuals. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. Comparing these odds can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, but remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring.
