Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective wisdom of crowd. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. If polls or analysts heavily favor one competitor, we might see a corresponding shift in the price of this market, but it won't necessarily align directly with sportsbook offerings. It’s useful to compare both to form a well-rounded view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and collective intelligence available to traders.

This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Fedoryshyn vs. Kasyanov match, as declared by the governing sporting body. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the winning outcome. The platform will then finalize the payouts to those who correctly predicted the result, based on the share prices at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to Oct 20, 2026. Any news regarding injuries to either Fedoryshyn or Kasyanov would likely have a significant impact. Changes in their recent performance, announced tactical adjustments, or even public statements from coaches or the athletes themselves could all shift market sentiment. Unexpected developments in the broader sporting landscape, or even weather conditions affecting the match, could also play a role in how this market evolves. Monitoring these signals is key to understanding potential price movements.
