Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market’s odds are determined by the collective predictions of many individual traders. It’s common to see differences emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Analyzing these discrepancies can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities and aren’t guarantees of the actual result.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. The price of each share reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The volume traded provides insight into how much conviction traders have in their predictions, and the price movements can indicate shifts in sentiment as new information emerges regarding the match.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the FC Zurich vs. FC Thun match. The platform will verify the result against official sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will not.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements might also play a role. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half of the match, such as early goals or red cards, could significantly impact the perceived probabilities and lead to substantial price movements in this market. Monitoring these signals can help you understand the evolving dynamics of the prediction market.
