Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individuals putting their capital at risk. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when public sentiment strongly disagrees with the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information or changing circumstances than sportsbooks, as traders continuously update their beliefs and adjust prices accordingly.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people trade, the price fluctuates, reflecting the evolving consensus. The current volume of $10 and 24-hour volume of $10 demonstrate the level of interest and activity in this particular market.

This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring the first goal in the FC Zurich vs. FC Luzern match. Official match reports and data from reputable sports news sources will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either FC Zurich or FC Luzern could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even pre-match analysis from respected football commentators, could also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting activity – a large influx of volume on one outcome – could quickly move the odds, reflecting a change in market expectations.
