Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available and traders react to news or changing circumstances, the odds on Polymarket can converge with, diverge from, or even lead sportsbook lines. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially as the event draws nearer and volume increases, due to the incentive structure encouraging accurate predictions.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether FC Wacker Innsbruck or WSG Tirol will score first. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The higher the demand for shares in a particular team, the higher the price rises, indicating increased confidence in that team’s likelihood of scoring first. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date information and trader sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the FC Wacker Innsbruck versus WSG Tirol match. Official match data will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the first scoring team will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their shares. The market’s outcome is determined by objective, publicly available data.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market.
