Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event occurring, as determined by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market allows for continuous adjustment based on a wider range of factors, including public sentiment and late-breaking news. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, with prediction markets sometimes offering more accurate forecasts, especially closer to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different possible exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices converge towards what the crowd believes is the true likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by news, analysis, and the collective intelligence of the participants. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the FC Supra vs. Inter Toronto match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the relevant soccer authorities.
