Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, while this market aggregates information from individuals with varying levels of expertise. However, it’s important to note that discrepancies can arise due to differing market dynamics and liquidity. Comparing the odds can offer valuable insights, but prediction markets aren’t always perfectly aligned with sportsbook pricing.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing reflects the evolving collective assessment of the likelihood of FC St. Gallen, Servette Geneva, or neither team scoring first in the match.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team, if any, scores the first goal in the FC St. Gallen vs. Servette match. If neither team scores during the regular playing time, that outcome will be considered the result. The official match records will serve as the basis for determining the winner of this market.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either FC St. Gallen or Servette Geneva would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, recent match results, or tactical adjustments announced by the managers could also drive price movements. Even weather conditions on match day, potentially affecting playing style, could influence traders' assessments and alter the dynamics of this market.
