Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly when considering information beyond readily available statistics. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individuals. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early on, as prediction markets can incorporate unique insights and react quickly to new information. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket often converge with those found at major sportsbooks, though differences can still occur due to varying market participants and risk assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s probability of that score occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly. The current volume of $802 suggests moderate interest in this event, while the 24-hour volume of $603 indicates recent trading activity.
