Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If prediction market participants collectively believe a sportsbook’s odds are mispriced, they can capitalize on the discrepancy, driving the market odds closer to their assessment of the true probability. It’s common to see differences, particularly in events where public sentiment strongly deviates from expert analysis, influencing this market’s pricing.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event's likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price isn’t based on any single analyst’s opinion but instead represents the collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
