Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform has its own user base, trading rules, and fee structures, which can influence price discovery. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Furthermore, differences in liquidity – the volume of trading activity – can also cause price discrepancies. If one platform has significantly more volume, its prices may be more efficient and accurate. The differing approaches to market design and the composition of traders on each platform contribute to these variations, even when tracking the same underlying event. This market currently has a total volume of $148,296.
