Frequently asked questions

Frequently, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This can be due to the wisdom of the crowd effect, where the collective intelligence of many traders can lead to more accurate predictions than those made by a few experts. While sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and risk assessment, this market reflects the aggregated beliefs of individuals willing to put their capital at risk. Discrepancies between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds can present potential arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. The market's liquidity, indicated by the trading volume, also influences price discovery. Currently, the market is driven by traders’ assessments of team form, historical data, and potential game-day factors.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the FC Lugano versus FC Luzern match. The official match records will serve as the source of truth for determining the winning outcome. Any potential disputes will be evaluated based on publicly available information and established sporting regulations, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Lugano or Luzern would likely cause price shifts. Changes in team form based on recent match results, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news related to team morale or internal conflicts could also move the market. Any significant development affecting the perceived probability of either team scoring first has the potential to alter prices.
