Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, reflecting their profit margin, and may be influenced by public betting patterns. This market, driven by informed traders, can sometimes reflect a more accurate assessment of probabilities, especially when there is significant expertise focused on the event. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing information sources and risk appetites. It's valuable to compare both to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants trading in this specific market, offering a unique signal compared to other forms of forecasting.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team scores the first goal in the second half of the FC Lorient vs. Stade Brestois 29 match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then finalize the market and distribute payouts to winning share holders based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team formations, or even weather conditions impacting the match could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about key players being unavailable would likely cause significant movement. Also, as the match progresses and real-time data becomes available, the market may react quickly to in-game events.
