Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, whereas this market is driven purely by trader sentiment. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to score first in the second half, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly, potentially offering a different value than you'd find at a sportsbook. It's often useful to compare both to identify potential discrepancies and informed betting opportunities.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of the traders participating, offering a dynamic assessment of the likelihood of either Lorient or Monaco scoring first in the second half.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team scores the first goal in the second half of the FC Lorient vs. AS Monaco FC match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified sources to ensure accuracy. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final result as reported by these sources.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in starting lineups, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected tactical decisions during the first half of the match, or even early game momentum, could also lead to significant price movements. Furthermore, any public statements from coaches or players about their strategy for the second half could impact trading activity on Polymarket.
