Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of each exact score. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, varying risk appetites, and the influence of public sentiment. It’s common to see this market price in factors that sportsbooks might overlook or undervalue, offering a potentially more accurate forecast of the final result.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score, and the price of a share directly reflects the market’s implied probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by new information, shifts in sentiment, and the overall flow of trading activity, creating a dynamic and responsive prediction environment for the Bulgarian Lokomotiv derby.
