Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team's chances, the odds on Polymarket may move in the opposite direction. This difference can sometimes present opportunities for informed traders to find value, but it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular team scoring first, the price of those shares increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time forecast of the event’s potential outcome.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the FC Košice vs. KFC Komárno match. The official match records will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders who hold shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution. It’s important to monitor the event closely as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in coaching staff, or unexpected player suspensions could significantly impact the perceived probabilities. Furthermore, the performance of each team in their preceding matches, weather conditions on match day, and even public sentiment expressed on social media could all contribute to shifts in the market. Unexpected tactical decisions during the match itself could also cause rapid price adjustments as traders react to the unfolding events.
