Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, incorporating a margin for profit. This market, however, allows traders to express their own beliefs, potentially leading to odds that more accurately reflect the true probability of an outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the teams' strengths and weaknesses. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to new information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether FC København or Aarhus GF will score first. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. The market is entirely driven by supply and demand among traders.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the FC København vs. Aarhus GF match. Official match records will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any potential disputes will be handled according to Polymarket’s guidelines, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process. The outcome will be clearly documented and available for review after resolution.

Even pre-match analysis from respected football commentators and analysts could sway trader sentiment and cause the market to move. Any significant updates related to the teams will likely impact this market.
