Prediction market odds, like those seen on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on models and proprietary information, while prediction markets are driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. This market’s current pricing may differ from sportsbook odds due to varying factors and information considered by each.
Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Predict can diverge due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information regarding the Inter Milan vs. Club Brugge match. Trading volume also plays a role; lower volume on one platform can lead to greater price volatility and divergence. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for trading and order execution on each platform can influence price discovery. These differences create opportunities for arbitrage, but also highlight the distinct perspectives offered by each market.
