Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from sportsbook odds, which are often set by analysts. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like biases or marketing strategies into their pricing, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If prediction market odds significantly diverge from sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of the same underlying event, and discrepancies can occur due to differing information or perspectives.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that score occurring. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers are willing to transact. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, with increased buying pressure pushing prices up and increased selling pressure pushing prices down. This dynamic process aims to create a real-time estimate of the likelihood of each possible outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the FC Bayern München vs. 1.
