Description

This prediction market asks which team will score the first goal in a soccer match between FC Barcelona and Getafe CF. PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict use identical resolution criteria, focusing on the first goal scored within the standard 90-minute match duration plus stoppage time, with the same fallback data sources.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with fallback to Flashscore and then Sofascore.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first goal scored during the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the winner.
  • If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes plus stoppage time, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are explicitly excluded from consideration.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed.
  • Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore is used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore is used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting is used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50 (or 'Draw' where applicable).
Timing: Resolution will occur as soon as the official match statistics are available, but no later than 24 hours after the event's conclusion, potentially using fallback data sources if necessary. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Prediction market odds, like those found for this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on models and internal analysis, while prediction markets aggregate the opinions of many individuals betting with their own capital. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment diverges from expert opinion. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than sportsbook odds, particularly when there's significant public interest and trading volume. However, sportsbooks may offer more competitive pricing on certain outcomes due to their risk management strategies.
