Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd approach, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly as the event approaches. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or hedging strategies, while this market aggregates the diverse perspectives of numerous traders. However, initial sportsbook odds often serve as a baseline for comparison, and discrepancies can present opportunities for arbitrage. It's important to remember that both represent probabilities, but they are derived through different mechanisms and may diverge based on information flow and market participants' beliefs.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief about the likelihood of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand; increased buying pressure raises the price, indicating growing confidence in a specific score, while selling pressure lowers it. This dynamic process creates a real-time assessment of the potential match result.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the FC Augsburg versus FC Bayern München match will be used to determine the winning share(s). The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a widely recognized sports data provider. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final, verified score. It’s important to note that the resolution process relies on objective, publicly available data to ensure a fair and transparent outcome.
