Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of expertise, information access, and biases between the two types of bettors. Comparing these odds can be a useful exercise in assessing where the 'wisdom of the crowd' diverges from professional oddsmakers.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. The current price indicates the market's assessment of the likelihood of a particular player winning the Fashchevskyi vs. Slozka match, and it’s influenced by the volume of trading activity.

This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official outcome of the Fashchevskyi vs. Slozka match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to ensure accuracy. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final share price at the time of resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or significant performance updates for either Fashchevskyi Ivan or Slozka Mykola could cause the odds to shift.
