This prediction market asks which running back will score the most fantasy points in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL season using standard PPR scoring. The markets cover a large number of potential players, and resolve based on official ESPN Fantasy Sports statistics.
This market will resolve to the running back that finishes Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season as the highest-scoring RB under standard PPR (points-per-reception) scoring per the default scoring of ESPN Fantasy Sports. Only games designated by the NFL as Week 8 of the 2026-27 regular season count. If two or more players are tied for the most fantasy points in Week 8, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player whose last name comes first alphabetically. If the highest-scoring RB in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is not a listed player, this market will resolve to "Other". If Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed past November 18, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or a leader cannot be determined within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official Week 8 statistics as reported by ESPN Fantasy Sports (https://www.espn.com/fantasy/).
Each market resolves based on whether the named running back achieves the highest total full-PPR fantasy points among all eligible running backs in Week 8 of the 2026 NFL regular season, using Sleeper's scoring system including overtime points. Players not participating that week are considered to have scored zero points. If multiple players tie for the highest score, the market resolves to 1/N where N equals the number of tied players, meaning no holder receives the full $1 payout minus the Yes payout amount. All markets share identical secondary rules governing point calculation, player eligibility determination, and tie resolution methodology.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, while sportsbook odds are typically set by a smaller team of professionals. This can lead to differences, as prediction markets may incorporate information and perspectives not fully captured by sportsbooks. However, both aim to accurately predict the probability of an event. Sportsbooks also factor in a 'vig' or commission, whereas prediction markets generally have lower transaction costs. This market’s implied probabilities can be a useful comparison point to traditional sports betting lines, offering a different perspective on potential outcomes.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors, including differences in trader demographics, market liquidity, and the specific mechanisms each platform uses for price discovery. Polymarket may attract a different type of trader than Kalshi, leading to varying opinions on the likelihood of each running back leading in points. Furthermore, the volume of trading on each platform – currently $1,120 overall – can influence price volatility and create temporary discrepancies. These differences are normal and reflect the dynamic nature of prediction markets.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The running back with the highest PPR fantasy point total in Week 8 of the 2026-27 NFL season will be considered the winner. Official NFL statistics and widely-accepted fantasy football scoring rules will be used to determine the final result. The outcome will be based on verified data, ensuring a transparent and accurate resolution process.
Several events could significantly impact this market before it resolves around Nov 3, 2026. Injuries to key running backs are a primary catalyst, as they would alter the competitive landscape and shift probabilities. Preseason performance and training camp reports will also be closely watched, providing insights into player form and potential roles. Unexpected trades or depth chart changes could also cause substantial movement. Finally, any news regarding coaching strategies or offensive schemes that might favor a particular running back could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market.
