Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market’s odds are determined by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both platforms. It’s common to see prediction markets move more quickly to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, potentially offering a more up-to-date assessment of the likelihood of each team scoring first.
