Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing promotions or biases, while this market is driven purely by traders' willingness to buy or sell based on their own analysis. It's common to see discrepancies, especially in events where public sentiment strongly deviates from statistical probabilities. Comparing these odds can provide valuable insights into where the market believes there may be value, or where sportsbooks may be over or underestimating the likelihood of certain outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market's current assessment of that scoreline's probability. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers agree. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand, with informed traders attempting to capitalize on perceived mispricings. The total volume traded provides an indication of the market's confidence in the various potential outcomes.

Unexpected news about key players, such as a sudden illness, could also trigger rapid price movements. Monitoring these signals and events will be crucial for anyone looking to trade in this market before it resolves.
