If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, incorporating a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own probabilities. If a significant number of traders believe a certain outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of team form and potential game strategies.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact first-half scores, and the price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand; increased buying pressure drives the price up, indicating higher confidence in that outcome, while selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing system allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official result of the first half of the Everton vs Chelsea match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The exact score at halftime will determine the winning shares. Any delays or postponements to the match may affect the resolution timeline, but the outcome will always be based on the officially recorded first-half score. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the match approaches.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Late injury news regarding key players for either Everton or Chelsea would likely cause shifts in the odds. Any changes in team formation or tactical approaches announced before kickoff could also move the market. Even weather conditions on match day, such as heavy rain or strong winds, might impact expectations about the game's flow and scoring potential. Public sentiment and expert analysis leading up to the match can also contribute to price movements on Polymarket.
