Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences, particularly when public opinion strongly deviates from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. If a significant number of traders believe an outcome is more or less likely than implied by sportsbook odds, this market will adjust accordingly, potentially offering more favorable odds for informed bettors. It’s important to compare both to gain a comprehensive view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective wisdom of the crowd. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome drives up its price, indicating increased confidence in its likelihood. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date predictions.

This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the European Tour match between Niels Zonneveld and Mike de Decker. Any official announcements or results released by the European Tour will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the results against these sources to ensure accuracy and transparency for all participants in this market.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the players’ strategies or any controversies surrounding the match could also lead to price fluctuations. Furthermore, major upsets in other European Tour events involving similar players might impact perceptions of relative skill and influence trading volume. Overall, any information that alters the perceived probability of either player winning will likely move this market.
