PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define identical resolution criteria and fallback data sources for determining the first team to score.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with fallback to Flashscore, Sofascore, and credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the outcome.
  • If neither team scores within the specified timeframe, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Postponements extend the market's open period until completion; cancellations resolve to 'Neither'.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Data Availability: If official statistics aren't available within 2 hours, Flashscore is used; if Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore is used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting is used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50.
  • Score Revisions: Revisions to officially declared final scores made *after* market resolution will not be accounted for.
Timing: Resolution will occur as soon as official statistics are available, or within 24 hours of the event's conclusion if fallback sources are required. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, whereas sportsbook odds are typically set by a smaller team of professionals. This market's odds can differ from traditional sportsbooks due to varying information sources and incentives. Sportsbooks aim to maximize profit while prediction markets aim to accurately forecast the outcome. Therefore, discrepancies can arise based on public sentiment, expert analysis, and the volume of trading activity on this market. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially regarding breaking news or late-stage developments.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Predict may diverge due to a number of factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying risk tolerance and information access. Polymarket might have a higher concentration of sophisticated traders, while Predict could be more influenced by casual bettors. Furthermore, the liquidity and trading volume on each platform can impact price discovery. Differences in the fees charged by each platform, or the specific rules governing trading, can also contribute to price discrepancies in this market. These factors create independent price signals, even for the same underlying event.
