This market refers to the cricket match between Pakistan and England scheduled for October 20 2026 at 4:00 AM ET in England and Sri Lanka Tour of Pakistan ODIs. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, reflecting their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts based on a wider range of information and participant viewpoints. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices fluctuate, providing a dynamic assessment of the series' potential results. The market depth, visible on the dashboard, shows the volume of shares available at different price points, indicating the strength of conviction behind various predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Pakistan vs England ODI series is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official series result as determined by the governing cricket bodies. The platform will then verify the outcome against these sources to determine which shares will pay out. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will not.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather forecasts affecting match schedules could cause shifts in trading activity. Unexpected performance in early matches of the series will likely lead to adjustments in the perceived probabilities of each team winning. Furthermore, expert analysis and public opinion, as reflected in sports news and commentary, can also influence trader sentiment and move the market. Major upsets or dominant performances by either team are the most likely catalysts for substantial price changes.
