Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and opinions. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially early in the market's lifecycle or when significant news breaks. Examining these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, but remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, not guarantees.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event's likelihood. The current implied probability of a particular outcome is determined by the share price relative to a potential payout of 1 USDC.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Elfimov vs. Hainiuk match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which outcome is declared the winner and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the resolution date approaches to stay informed about the event's progress.
