Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market is driven by individuals expressing their true beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, it may indicate that the crowd perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has identified a mispricing. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, especially in response to breaking news or late-developing trends.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to that outcome by traders. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that as more people buy contracts predicting a specific result, the price of those contracts increases, and the implied probability of that outcome rises. Conversely, selling pressure lowers prices and reduces the implied probability. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to create a real-time assessment of the event's likelihood.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the West Ham vs Southampton match as reported by recognized sports data providers. The market will settle to 100% for the winning outcome or, in the case of a draw, to 100% for the draw outcome. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct result will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will forfeit their stake. The exact timing of the final settlement may vary slightly depending on data verification processes.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either West Ham or Southampton would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news about team morale or internal conflicts could also play a role. Finally, major upsets in other relevant matches within the EFL Championship could indirectly influence perceptions of the teams’ relative strengths and affect trading activity in this market.
