This set of markets tracks the point differential in an upcoming college football game, allowing participants to speculate on whether one team will win by a specific margin or more. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points, making it possible to assess varying levels of victory magnitude.
All markets resolve based on the official final point differential from the Eastern Michigan vs UMass college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. If UMass wins by exceeding the specified point margin, the corresponding 'UMass wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes; if Eastern Michigan wins by exceeding its specified margin, the relevant 'Eastern Michigan wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. If neither team meets their respective threshold, all markets resolve to No. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of the original start time, all markets remain active and resolve per the final result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can often be more accurate than initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds to attract balanced betting and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the game's outcome. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – this market tends to adjust rapidly, potentially offering different insights than traditional sportsbooks. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant news breaks, as the market efficiently incorporates new data.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the EMU vs UMass game. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread being the final result. Traders are incentivized to set accurate prices, as they profit from correctly predicting the outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand, with increased buying pressure raising the price and increased selling pressure lowering it, ultimately revealing the collective forecast of participants.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final point spread of the Eastern Michigan versus UMass football game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by a trusted sports data source, ensuring an objective and verifiable outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and contract payouts shortly after the game concludes.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries on either the EMU or UMass teams would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also move the market. Unexpected coaching decisions or significant shifts in team performance during other games could also influence trader sentiment. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create short-term price movements, as traders react to perceived advantages or disadvantages.
