Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own modeling and risk management, while prediction markets are driven by actual money on the line. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. While both aim to predict the correct outcome, the mechanisms and information sources differ, resulting in potentially varying probabilities for this market.
