Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. This can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds may initially move faster to incorporate breaking news, while this market’s price discovery can be more gradual, driven by trader conviction and volume.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular score is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will climb, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that reflects the collective intelligence of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Dundee United vs. Aberdeen match, as officially recorded by a reputable sports data provider, will determine the winning outcome. Traders who hold shares in the correct exact score will receive a payout, while those holding shares in incorrect outcomes will not.
