Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and differences can arise due to varying information and risk assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Dundee or Kilmarnock will score first. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that as more people believe Dundee will score first, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice-versa. The current implied probability is reflected in the share price.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team that scores the first goal in the Dundee FC versus Kilmarnock FC match will determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on official match data and sources, ensuring a transparent and accurate determination of the result. Any potential disputes will be handled according to the platform’s standard procedures for verifying event outcomes.
