For any game postponed but starting within 48 hours of its original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when public opinion strongly favors one outcome. Examining both sources can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the perceived probabilities, though this market represents independent trader views.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction, meaning traders are constantly buying and selling contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the game progresses, reflecting the collective intelligence of the traders participating.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the second half will be declared the winner. The official game results, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the 2nd half winner will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in starting lineups, or even in-game performance during the first half could cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected scoring runs, key defensive stops, or strategic adjustments by either coach could all impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, broader factors like weather conditions, if applicable, or even public perception shifts based on pre-game analysis could contribute to movement in this market. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential price fluctuations.
