This market focuses on predicting which team will score more points in a specific quarter of a college football game between Duke and Georgia Tech. It highlights the importance of short-term performance over the full game outcome. The resolution depends solely on the third quarter's scoring dynamics.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the third quarter of the Duke versus Georgia Tech college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. If Georgia Tech scores more points in that quarter, the Georgia Tech market resolves to Yes. If Duke scores more points, the Duke market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points, the Tie market resolves to Yes. Only points scored during the third quarter count toward resolution. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often converging towards probabilities that are more accurate than those initially set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market aggregates diverse opinions. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but volume in this market suggests a more competitive expectation, it could indicate a potential mispricing. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and discrepancies can arise due to differing information or biases among bettors and market participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top outcome, as indicated by the highest implied probability, is Duke winning the 3rd quarter, though this can change rapidly based on trading activity and new information. The market dynamically adjusts to incorporate new data and participant views.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team is leading at the end of the 3rd quarter of the Duke vs Georgia Tech game. Official game statistics will be used to determine the winning team for the 3rd quarter. The platform will verify the results against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement. This process ensures a transparent and reliable outcome for all participants.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Duke or Georgia Tech would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team performance during the first half of the game, or even pre-game reports on team strategies, could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions, if they affect the game, might also play a role. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could quickly alter the market’s implied probabilities, creating opportunities for astute traders.
