This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both Duke and Georgia Tech in the first quarter of their college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to settle the outcome.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Duke vs Georgia Tech college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a collective wisdom that can be more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as the event approaches. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Kalshi allows traders to directly assess probabilities. However, initial sportsbook lines may differ from this market due to factors like public perception and early betting action. It’s common to see convergence between the two as more information becomes available and the event draws nearer, though differences can persist due to varying market participants and information access.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes for the Duke vs Georgia Tech 1st quarter. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. Traders aim to profit by buying contracts they believe are undervalued and selling those they believe are overvalued, effectively betting on their predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the total points scored in the first quarter of the Duke vs Georgia Tech game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning contract. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure an objective and transparent outcome for all participants in this market. Traders will be able to view the confirmed result on Kalshi following the game's conclusion.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 10, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Duke or Georgia Tech would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's style of play, could also move the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might affect trader sentiment. Finally, significant betting activity on Kalshi itself, driven by new information or analysis, could cause price fluctuations.
