This group forecasts which golfers will finish in the top 5 at the 2026 Open de Espana tournament. Markets are created for individual players, and resolve to 'Yes' if the player achieves a top 5 finish (including ties) at the tournament's conclusion.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player finishes in the top 5 at the 2026 Open de Espana tournament, including ties. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If final results are not announced by October 18, 2026 at 11:59PM ET this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the DP World Tour website (https://www.europeantour.com/).
Each market evaluates whether a specified golfer finishes in the top five positions (including ties) at the 2026 Open de España presented by Madrid. If the golfer achieves this outcome, the market resolves to "Yes"; otherwise, it resolves to "No". If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or does not participate, the resolution depends on the timing: if before teeing off, the market resolves to the "Fair Market Price"; if after teeing off, it resolves to "No". These rules apply uniformly across all individual golfer markets, ensuring consistent evaluation criteria for each participant's performance in the tournament.
Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the distinct incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to set lines that balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin, while prediction market traders are incentivized to express their true beliefs about the likelihood of an event. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate, particularly when there is significant public information available. For this market, you may find that the implied probabilities from Polymarket and Kalshi diverge from those offered by major sportsbooks, potentially reflecting differing levels of expertise or access to information among traders and bookmakers.
