Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the event's outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a larger and more diverse pool of participants influencing the probabilities. It’s common to see this market incorporate information and perspectives not fully captured by traditional sportsbooks, leading to potentially different probability assessments.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes of the Open de Espana, and the price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers agree. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by news, analysis, and overall market sentiment. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results of the DP World Tour: Open de Espana Albatross tournament. The final leaderboard and confirmed winner will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome in this market. Traders should monitor official tournament sources for the definitive results that will trigger market settlement. The outcome will be determined by the player who wins the tournament.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Player form leading up to the tournament, including recent performance and any reported injuries, will be closely watched. Weather conditions during the tournament are also a key influence, as they can affect scoring and strategy. Unexpected news, such as a key player withdrawing from the competition, could also cause substantial shifts in probabilities. Finally, any major upsets or surprising performances during the early rounds of the tournament are likely to move this market as traders react to the unfolding events.
